It’s been a minute since I’ve posted on this blog, and honestly, a lot has happened since we last spoke. The website crashed half the time, and I just couldn’t keep up. Even after upgrading the servers, WordPress still felt unstable. Most of my websites were acting up at the same time, and it reached a point where I had to pause and focus on fixing things in the background.
Outside of all the technical issues, the world has been moving fast.
Local and Global Noise
Globally, there have been nonstop headlines. Political drama, international debates, and yes — the US president Donald Trump making noise again. It feels like every week something new is unfolding.
Closer to home, the currency conversations in South Africa have been intense too. A lot is shifting, and people are paying attention in a different way now.
But in the middle of all that noise, something meaningful happened.
Women For Change Made History
One of the biggest and most powerful moments we witnessed recently was the movement led by Women For Change, supported by millions of South Africans across the country. People stood together to demand that GBV and femicide be declared a national state of disaster.
Watching survivors being supported in real time was emotional. Seeing men, women, communities, and organisations stand in solidarity showed how serious the issue is and how united South Africans can be when it truly matters. It was an important moment for our country.
A Proud Moment for South Africa
At the same time, South Africa hosted one of the most admirable and well-executed G20 Summits. It was clean, organised, and honestly, a proud moment for the country. With everything happening around us daily, it was refreshing to see an event of that scale come together beautifully.
These are the moments that remind us of our potential as a nation.
The Digital World Had Its Own Issues
To add to the chaos, Cloudflare also went down recently, affecting websites and online services across the world. Many platforms slowed down or went offline completely, and it caused a ripple effect. As someone who works online, I felt it too.
It has been one of those periods where tech problems come in clusters — but sometimes that’s how digital life works. You fix one thing, another breaks. You take a breath and try again.
Marketing Noise Everywhere
Right now, the marketing world is louder than usual. Black Friday season is here, and every brand is fighting for attention. Emails, ads, social media posts — everything feels busy.
And Temu, which was trending heavily for a while, isn’t hitting the same way at the moment simply because everyone is marketing aggressively. The noise is high, competition is tough, and people are trying every strategy to stand out.
It’s overwhelming, but it also shows how driven businesses are in this economy. Everyone is bringing their strategies forward.
What This All Means
When I look at the last few weeks, one thing is clear:
life doesn’t slow down just because we’re dealing with one challenge. Everything moves at once. Things go wrong. Things go right. And we adjust.
Even with the interruptions and the constant noise, I’m grateful for the positive moments — the unity around GBV, the success of the G20 Summit, and the chance to reconnect here again.
If you’ve had a chaotic season too, you’re not alone.
One step at a time is still progress.
